WeAreBrain delivers digital growth for Ginkgo Agency’s Beautiful News platform

We are particularly proud to announce our latest product release! Not only because of the challenging period we are facing in the history of the world but because of the product itself. It is a site that is dedicated to sharing positive news stories! We collaborated with Ginkgo Agency to develop the Beautiful News platform for a global audience, as well as develop a suite of key features and functionalities. This project has always been close to our heart because the very mission of Beautiful News is to leave the world a better place than it found it, which aligns perfectly with the WeAreBrain mission.

So what did we do?

The redesign and additional functionality promises to provide digital growth for this positive news source that releases stories at 4:14 pm every day. WeAreBrain’s team of developers and designers have created new Channels and Editions functionalities, as well as Advanced Search, Podcast and My Account features. The team have also developed a Google Voice Assistant to go with the site. To try it out, just simply say: “Hi Google, talk to Beautiful News” on your Android smartphone.

Furthermore and very excitingly, WeAreBrain has developed a new Contributor Hub, a platform where the community can submit new story ideas and participate in the production of stories around the world as ideators, creators and patrons.

If you’re curious to see the most recent Good News Stories that made us smile take a look at these:

About Beautiful News

Their mission is clear. In the face of news cycles dominated by disaster and despair, Beautiful News seeks to provide a source of comfort, relief, and motivation.

Since their launch on 1 November 2016, they have shared hundreds of positive stories and inspired countless individuals. Their stories of hope feature in people’s everyday lives and journeys, from malls and universities to airports and Uber rides.

In just over four years, the project has amassed millions of views on social media, with the Beautiful News Facebook page having over 1 million followers.

These stories are positive, authentic and intimate — a reflection of South Africans’ remarkable, enduring spirit. Beautiful News is reframing our world, one film at a time, every day at 4:14 pm.

Collaboration with Ginkgo Agency

WeAreBrain previously collaborated with Ginkgo Agency by designing and building their website (ginkgoagency.com) from scratch.

Ginkgo Agency is a digital content agency driven to create communication solutions for those who require a compelling voice within the global landscape. At the heart of their work is the intention to inspire generations through the power of positive stories, and contribute to a sense of global community.

The technology behind the new Beautiful News platform

The Beautiful News mobile-first web application is based on Drupal 8 technology and the Google Voice Assistant created by the team is accessible via Android Smart Devices. Simply Say “Hi Google, talk to Beautiful News” and start brightening up your day with the best new good news stories.
