Meet Oleg, putting the ‘human’ back into HR

Creating a successful business starts with people — they are your most important asset. Without them, you have nothing, just an idea. It is therefore a crucial part of business development to equip your company with the best people in the right positions. It’s a complex but highly important process which is never-ending. The success of a business often depends upon the right people working towards a common goal. And the person in charge of acquiring and managing all the exceptional talent at WeAreBrain is Oleg, head of HR.

What exactly is Oleg’s role at WeAreBrain? Allow him to offer an explanation: “I’m working as an HR Generalist. I combine both HR and recruiting responsibilities into my role. I’m really happy that I am completely responsible for all human resources tasks at WeAreBrain. A well-polished talent acquisition process is only 40% of success. Then the real work starts! it’s necessary to onboard, adapt, develop and retain personnel in the right way in order to decrease staff turnover, which is the most important indicator of HRM effectiveness”. It certainly sounds like we’re all in safe and competent hands.

Being responsible for both Human Resources and recruiting — two complex roles rolled into one — is something Oleg is more than capable of doing. He has a Masters in Executive Management from Cherkassy Engineering and Technological University. As for working experience, Oleg has over five years recruiting and HR management experience. Before joining the WeAreBrain team he helped find the best talent and build smooth HR processes for software development companies (both product and outsourcing development), digital/mobile marketing, ad tech and telecom companies. Impressed? That’s why we hired him!

Having a Masters in Management has made Oleg understand the importance of people and people management. He understands that we are not robots, we are humans with feelings and emotions. To be able to facilitate and create an environment which takes all human needs into account provides an enjoyable working space which brings the best out of your team. And wanting to make people happy is at the heart of why Oleg got into HR management in the first place. “I just like to make people happy. The main reason I decided to become an HR practitioner is because of my eagerness to help people find the job that will suit them best, and that will give them the opportunity for continuous self-development. I also love to build effective teams that can make the world a better place with the products they create and services they provide. The main goal of every individual is to be useful for humanity and the entire universe” says Oleg.

When Oleg is not acquiring amazing talent and building extraordinary teams suited to specific projects, you can find him plugged into his earphones listening to music or playing the guitar. “I really like Rock and Roll music like Blues, Blues Rock, Punk Rock, Grunge, and so much more. I’ve been listening to rock music since childhood. I’ll never forget my first impressions when I heard The Offspring when I was only 8 years old. From then on I was hooked” he says.

We are very happy to have Oleg in charge of our HR and Recruitment at WeAreBrain and we look forward to seeing how he will leave his mark. Rock on, Oleg!
